About Doctor Casino

This is the Substack of Dr Andrew Russell, an independent economist based in Brisbane, Australia. Dr Russell specializes in Public Choice, Austrian Economics, Evolutionary Economics and New Institutional Economics, and did his PhD thesis on the New Institutional Economics of Casino Gambling. He has written for Inside Asian Gaming, the IPA Review and for The Spectator Australia.

Dr Russell writes on a variety of subjects, such as economics, politics, philosophy, the gambling industry (in particular the casino industry), and the “culture wars” that have been raging across Western nations for the last decade-and-a-half. This publication can be eclectic - political manifestos, video game reviews, policy analysis, and opinion pieces will all be available.
